About Personal Portrait Sessions
Most of my personal portrait sessions are structured exactly the same in terms of length of time and pricing, but for each session type there are some differences to know to plan for the best photos possible.
What kinds of sessions do you offer?
Personal portraits include: Family photos, Individual portrait sessions, Teen photo shoots, and Boudoir sessions.
I also do special event photography including Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, Birthdays, Sweet Sixteens, Anniversaries, Retirements and Graduations.
How does pricing work?
There is a session fee and a separate charge for photos. This gives you the flexibility to buy only the photos you want.
The session fee is credited towards your purchase. Anything you spend on the session fee is taken off the bill when you buy your prints or digital images.
You pay in advance for your session. That non-refundable fee holds your session date and time.
Prints or digital images are paid for at a separate ordering session. Your session fee amount will show as a credit on the invoice, and be deducted from the total of your purchase.
I do offer payment plans at no additional charge. Pay for your items in monthly installments for up to 1 year. You receive your prints/digitals upon receipt of the final payment.
For more on pricing, check out the pricing page.
What's included in the cost?
Your session fee pays for:
- Planning and prep of the photo session
- Professional Makeup and Hair (where noted)
- Location scouting
- The session itself
- Light editing of your photos after the session
- Your online preview photo gallery with lightly edited photo proofs
- Ordering session
What is the difference between a proof and final image?
The proof is a lightly edited image that is shown in your online preview gallery. This is an image you have not ordered yet, and will show a watermark or logo on top of it.
Once you choose which images you desire from your preview gallery of proofs, I'll finish retouching it and send you a final image. That image will be delivered through a download link, or if it's part of a print package you'll receive a keepsake USB.
How long is each photo session?
Mini sessions are 30 minutes long and great for getting that one quick photo without all the fuss. You can expect about 15-30 proofs from your session.
Full length sessions are 90 minutes long and designed to give you the most variety to choose from. Choose this option if you have a large group, multiple outfits, multiple locations or just need a little time to warm up in front of the camera. You can expect anywhere from 45-60 proofs from your full length session.
Boudoir is only available as a full length session.
Where can I have my photo taken?
You can choose between a studio location and an "on location" photo session.
Studio Location - My base studio is located in Fairless Hills, PA, lower Bucks County Pennsylvania. I'm in a 2nd floor office within Fairless Hills Town Center shopping center.
Other Studio Option - For those looking to have a studio style session in another location, I am typically able to rent a studio space in New York or other city of your request for an additional fee. Ask me for more info.
On Location - This simply means I bring my equipment to where you want me to take your picture. That includes outdoor parks, your front yard, a favorite city spot, and even the corner coffee shop (with their permission). My session fee includes any location within 30 miles of Fairless Hills (zip code 19030). Locations outside this area will have a minor travel fee added.
Ask me for more suggestions on Bucks County PA outdoor photography locations.
What happens if there's bad weather on my scheduled session day?
If you have a scheduled outdoor session, and we did not plan on an alternate indoor location, I will reschedule your session at no additional fee. Typically I will notify you in advance of the session date if there's the potential for rain or other bad weather, and we'll pick an alternate date.
If I haven't covered one of your questions, please reach out and let me know what you're wondering about!
